About
Hello there! My name is Alan Perlman. For three years, I traveled to more than 60 countries as an international cost-of-living analyst, looking for items like women’s underwear, iodized salt and motor oil. I grew up in Nashville, Tennessee and started writing in 2006 when I spent a semester abroad in Kathmandu. From there, I went back to school and finished a degree in International Studies, capping off my final semester by researching urban farming initiatives around the world. Today, I am based in Boston, weathering its winters and enjoying all that the northeast has to offer. Some of my other interests include mountaineering, cooking, and the occasional dance party.
I’m working on a variety of Internet projects right now. I write for Flightster, manage a site about piezoelectricity, write Indian restaurant reviews at The Curry Project and recently launched an extreme sports site called Nerve Rush.
I also try to take a few pictures from time to time.
